WHAT ON EARTH IS PERSONAL ENTROPY?

And why does it matter?

With little help from the field of Thermodynamics, we use the the term Personal Entropy to simply refer to the time and energy that is lost or dissipated unproductively by individuals, especially in their work environment. The ultimate result of entropy is decay and disorder.

For evey individual, unless you pay conscious attention, order is naturally breaking down and energy is being dissipated, without reward. To prevent breakdown or promote development, you need to inject energy and time: energy and time that cease to be available for productive work.

Think, for example, about how much time and energy people spend protecting themselves from getting into trouble, what they invest in projects that don't land and how much thought and emotion goes into resolving disagreements. All of these are examples of entropy.

Entropy matters because it costs you.
